Avalanche!
So, I’ve been AWOL for almost a month.
It’s not my fault, I swear. No, really, I’ve been totally buried in deadlines, guest posts, and personal stuff. But I’m here now!
What, exactly have I been up to? Well, I finished my last round of copy edits on LONG TIME COMING yesterday. If you didn’t see my post on FaceBook, that story went from being 15K words to almost 20,500. Now, generally 5K words isn’t tough for me to pound out. But add in trimming my boo-boos and no-nos from the manuscript and trying to write on my two (yes TWO) WIPs, and you’ve got a very tired writer on your hands.
However, I am totally thrilled with that story. Just delighted with how it came out. That is in no small part to my editor Rachel Firasek (author and editor extraordinaire — go, check her out, I’ll still be here.) and my pals, Sabrina Garie (author) and Sarah Cass (author too, did you guess?) who stepped up to the plate on short notice and helped me fix a scene I’d messed with over and over and just couldn’t find my footing in. Go ahead, check them out too. Friend and stalk them all over the interwebs. You’ll be so glad you did. No joke.
I was really lucky to have a guest post on Fictional Candy this month talking about sexy geeks! If you missed it, it’s linked. I also wrote a guest post for Silken Sheets and Seduction about naming characters, and why my guys and gals tend to have “boring” names.
I was passed the Beautiful Blogger award by Sandra Bunino and Tonya Cannariato and nominated (again) in the Lucky Seven Meme by buddy/blogger/author Jodie Smith from Riverina Romantics. Which is a super duper cool site. While I’m wondering who to tag for these meme’s and what I’m going to write about, I’m not going to complain about them. Not. At. All.
If I hadn’t done a Lucky Seven Meme a month or so ago, LONG TIME COMING might still be in the slush pile somewhere. That’s a story for another post, however.
So, I have some posting to do. Some things to catch up on. I even feel like pooh that three weeks have gone by with no Six Sunday for you guys. Maybe I’ll do an 18 line post from one of the WIPs for you to make up for it. 
I’ve got two posts to do about Betas. Critters, and Editors. The Memes. Oh, and I have material from Kathryn Meyer Griffith (that’s her GoodReads link) for a guest post. Which is awesome. She’s a fantastic story teller. I really enjoy her. She’s also a sweet, nice, super duper person. Stalk worthy.
So, what am I going to be up to now, you ask? Well, I’m going to begin revising and working on my vampire books in between the two WIPs that are promised …somewhere. I’ve got someone interested in helping me make the vampire stuff le awesomesauce, so I’m going to get to work on the first book doing some editing. Putting all the stuff I’ve learned the past few months to good use on that manuscript. I think it’s a good book, but I want it to blow your minds. I want you all to love it. Like I do. Which means work.

Thank you for the shout out. But, that story rocks because of you! Love Long Time Coming and I can’t wait to see it out in the world. Now, get back to work, lol. I know of another story I’m anxious to dive into.

LOL. And here she is folks, my lovely editor Rachel. She has helped me beat my editorial no-nos into submission and as a result I’m a better writer than I was yesterday.

And Rachel, I’m in Denny’s right now so that I can get some uninterrupted time for words. So, don’t worry, vampire lovin’ with a heaping helping of Smex Beam is on it’s way! But, seriously, I needed that 1/2 hour. Raphael and Elena = Awesomely sexy, powerful couple. Nalini Singh is amazing. I want to be like her someday. (And I expect you will help me get there…

Heehee! Barb, I was thinking about you yesterday.I miss you. But, I promise that when you get your hands on Long Time Coming, you’ll be so freakin’ happy I was working my butt off on that instead of goofing off online. I promise you. It’s so exquisitely smutty and delicious.
